Summary from Bob & Joy Hernandez (Our National Leaders)

Yipee-ki-yo!  We just returned from a rousing, passion-filled Section 10 Convention in Dallas, TX!   The Convention was held at the University of Dallas with the inspiring theme A Family Of Believers.  There were 65 Sacraments and 77 children in attendance from throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

The presentations were interspersed with family activities, such as making a Local Area banner & various skits.  We were particularly impressed by the Friday night presentation “To Know God” which was a presented by a family, Fred & Jenny Monger and their 14 year old son, Sean.  This was followed by a family dialogue between parents and their children.  The remaining presentations, “To Love God” presented by Steve & Mary Wallace and Fr. John Brown and “To Serve God” presented by Ron & Judy Pekny (who used flashlights to read when the University had a power outage!) were equally insightful and motivating!

Huli Tabone spoke briefly, urging all of us to treasure our relationship and not take it for granted.  It has been 15 months since her beloved Bob died suddenly.  Huli is a spirit-filled and gracious woman, and her willingness to participate in the Convention was inspirational!
