  Mike: We heard another couple speak about Marriage Encounter at our church and it was obvious that they had a very loving, caring relationship.  If a weekend could help our relationship become more like theirs, I was certainly willing to give it a try.  Our Weekend was more fantastic than I ever imagined it could be.  We were married 15 years when we made our weekend and we wish that we had done so a lot sooner!

  Debbie: Our weekend was our most unforgettable Weekend ever!  I had heard about Marriage Encounter for years, but I never knew how to ask Johnny to go on a Weekend with me.  Had I only known what a difference it would make in our lives, I guarantee I would not have been as timid about asking for the gift of our weekend.

  Johnny: I do not know in my heart that we would still be married had we not gone on our Weekend.  We were at odds over our teenagers, and we did not share our Catholic faith as we do now.  I was a closed book which Deb could only see the cover.  Our Weekend gave us the tools to communicate deeply in a loving way.  It put the romance back into our marriage.

Marriage Encounter has been such  positive influence in our lives since our original weekend in 1991.  We know that each of us is on the top of the other's priority list.  We've met wonderful couples who have changed our lives with their love and inspiration through Marriage Encounter.  We feel very blessed to have it as a part of our ministry.

• Paul and I had a great marriage for 21 years but some of the "spark" had disappeared since our early married years.  Our Marriage Encounter Weekend ignited the spark, and reminded us of how important we are to each other.  We are as happy as newlyweds once again!!

• Our marriage was being pulled in many different directions - jobs, kids, and financial difficulties.  Colleen and I didn't have time for one another.  Marriage Encounter gave us the tools to help us slow down and put the focus back on us!  It's now a wonderful part of our daily lives.

• When some friends suggested that Sheila and I make a Marriage Encounter we were shocked and more than a little hurt.  We were very happily married and, frankly, it surprised us that they thought we needed 'marriage counseling'.   When we finally told them how we felt, they laughed and said that they had suggested the Encounter because we were a happily married couple.  Now, I'm glad they did.  We got an awful lot out of it precisely because we brought a lot to it.

• It was Becky's idea to go on the weekend.  I went along strictly to avoid an argument.  I'm sure glad we went.  We really got a lot out of it.

• Tony and I have been married for five years.  During that time I've gotten ahead in my job and settled down nicely into my marriage.  Marriage Encounter showed me how I can get ahead in my marriage too.

• I now realize that it is possible to keep right on growing in a marriage, even after 25 years.
